Microbiology is the science of microorganisms, with a focus on bacteria, viruses, fungi, and protozoan parasites. This course is mainly concerned with microorganisms and their applications in research. Microbiology is a branch of biology that includes molecular biology, inheritance biology, and immunology. Microbiologists are expected to conduct the studies in order to defeat infectious diseases in the future, as well as to realize the role of microbes in the environment and to harness them for food processing, biotechnological, and industrial applications.
