Teacher’s Day is celebrated in India on 5th September every year. September 5th is the anniversary of the birth of Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, one of the country’s most revered educators and philosophers.Once some students and friends of Dr. Radhakrishnan sought the scholar’s permission to celebrate his birthday, While Dr. Radhakrishnan refused an extravagant celebration, he instead advised them to mark the day as Teacher’s Day And since then his birthday is being celebrated by honoring teachers on September 5. India’s Guru-Shishya tradition is a significant and holy component of its culture. On this day, we honor our teachers for their contributions to the growth of our community and nation. Our educators hold the key to society’s destiny. They are in charge of shaping their students into decent people and responsible citizens and they carry out their responsibilities admirably and responsibly. On this day, students across India perform skits and sing songs to express their gratitude. They also give handmade cards and gifts to their teachers as a gesture of thanks. “Teachers can change lives with the right mix of chalk and challenges.” “Teaching is the greatest act of optimism.”
